Ingredients :
1. 1 pound boneless and
skinless chicken breasts with a good quality (cut into 1/2 inch pieces)
2. 1 teaspoon of olive oil
3. Salt and pepper
4. 12 ounces of penne
pasta
5. 1/4 teaspoon of garlic
powder
6. 1/4 teaspoon of dried
basil
7. 2 cups tomato sauce
(use your favorite brand and you will add it as your desire)
8. 1/4 cup of chopped
fresh basil
9. 1/2 cup of freshly
grated parmesan cheese
10. 1 1/4 cup shredded of mozzarella cheese
Instructions :
1. Prepare the oven and
preheat it to 375 degrees.
2. Bring a large pot of
water and boil it. After boiling, add 2 large pinches of salt and then add the
pasta. Cook it according to the package instruction; it is for about 10-11
minutes and stirring occasionally.
3. Meanwhile, you will
heat a large skillet by add 1 teaspoon of olive oil on medium/high heat.
4. Add the chicken and
sprinkle it with a garlic powder, the pinch of salt and
pepper, and dried basil.
5. Cook it for about 5
minutes until the chicken is perfectly cooked.
6. Turn off the heat and
set aside the chicken.
7. After the pasta is
done, drain it and put the hot pasta to the pot. Add the chicken, chopped fresh
basil, tomato sauce, and mix together until the pasta is perfectly coated.
8. Add half of the pasta
mixture to the skillet where you cook the chicken in
9. Sprinkle it with 3/4
cup mozzarella cheese and also 1/4 cup parmesan. Add the rest of the pasta and
then top with the remaining mozzarella and also parmesan.
10. Bake it for about 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted
and bubbly. To get a yummy taste, garnish with extra fresh basil and serve chicken parmesan baked ziti warm.
